Sir Isaac Newton, Albert Einstein, George Bernard Shaw…I can name a huge big list. They were all vegetarians. Ancient Spartan warriors were invincible in battle and renowned for their ability to withstand extreme physical rigour and hardship. They were pure vegetarians. It is only barbarians and savages devoid of mercy and compassion who deign to consume the flesh of innocent terrorised animals. Non-vegetarianism is pure unbridled cannibalism. Meat eaters can never reach spiritual peaks.

Well, he seems like a nice guy–well intentioned and all that. And mostly reasonable. But I get a feeling of preaching to the quire here. Just reinforcing beliefs for other vegatarians, though that’s not bad really. What about plants? Aren’t they energetic beings too? But obviously we can’t go to that extreme. No conscious person can purposefully cause needless suffering. But the real point is that separation is an illusion. There is only one. No killer, no killed. No eater, no eaten. Illusion.

Then you go eat everything you see ok? In fact: you go and eat human flesh too…..no scrap that: eat some poop of the human.

sukkha911 on October 22, 2008 at 12:01 pm #

Climate change and pollution are changing the environment. Overpopulation is spreading more diseases. Sometimes toxic bacteria and viruses are released and cause medical problems and even kill the meat eater. Be aware of toxicity.

All scriptures tell us “do not kill”. Look at the language itself: when you take life of a person or animal it is said in any language that you kill them. When you cut a plant you do not say you kill it. Plants have much lower consciousness than animals or humans but even so we shouldn’t destroy plant kingdom and we should treat Earth as God’s kingdom where we are only temporary guests and do as little damage as possible.

Rasabihariji on December 17, 2008 at 8:57 pm #

Actually you do KILL plants and there is no need. In the very basic bible it says God gave the fruit and the seeds as food for us. The real unadulterated essene scriptures show Jesus preaching that only fruits, nuts, seeds, milk is human food. Nothing is killed. No plant, No animal. You eat the fruits from the plant. Fruitarians as they are called these days are the healthiest of all humans. You cannot preach to not kill animals and kill plants even if consciousness is lower in plants. Radhe x

Plants do not suffer as they do not have a central nervous system.
Drinking milk contributes to massive suffering.Veal is a by-product of the dairy industry.
Lets keep it real people.

Rasabihariji on December 27, 2008 at 12:26 am #

Who said anything suffering? Its about taking life!

“And next afterward was given this commandment, ‘Thou shalt not kill,’ for life is given to all by God, and that which God has given, let not man take away.”

Why Kill Plants when its not necessary for survival? Take their fruits and be thankful to them and mother earth and God. As for Milk and Honey, I do not take store milk or honey, only from Cows and Bees I know have been treated properly and not killed, usually in India only

Do have have anything in your life that you use made out of wood? Seems ridiculous?
Not eating plants is extreme but your own choice.
I do not follow the Bible so for me it has no meaning. All I do is try to live the best way I can without any “commandments”.
If “God” gets pissed at me for ripping into a stick of celery then that is his or her problem. Not mine.

Rasabihariji on December 27, 2008 at 10:09 pm #

You should go up to a celery plant and take its life, rip it up out the ground and cut it up and eat it. Some people are more evolved than others I dunno, maybe you wouldn’t feel an ounce of compassion but anyway, there is sin within all killing, as Jesus said…

Rasabihariji on December 27, 2008 at 10:10 pm #

…”The robber who breaketh into the house made by man is guilty, but they who break into the house made by God, even of the least of these are the greater sinners. Wherefore I say unto all who desire to be my disciples, keep your hands from bloodshed and let no flesh meat enter your mouths, for God is just and bountiful, who ordaineth that man shall live by the fruits and seeds of the earth alone.”

The Plant Body is a house made by God for the soul. You break into it and you sin. There are…

Rasabihariji on December 27, 2008 at 10:14 pm #

…reactions for killing, taking life. God has established the law of karma, you blow in the wind facing reactions by the natural laws God has setup, He doesn’t punish anyone ever, he just makes sure any soul who causes another soul to suffer or die, directly or indirectly reaps the same suffering and death.

If you dont believe a plant has a soul, how is it alive? matter is inanimate. Anyway, peace

Are you for real? Do you realize how ridiculous you sound?
If you are basing your wisdom from something you read out of the Bible, you are mad.The Bible has been the source of BILLIONS of murders.Human and animal.

Rasabihariji on December 28, 2008 at 10:28 pm #

Are you for real?

I have just explained if you kill you get killed. Natural Law. And you go and say billions have murdered who listen to that theory?

You may wanna hate me for some reason but at least read what I have put so you dont show yourself up

Bolgi on December 29, 2008 at 8:31 pm #

I do not hate you and I never said that I did.I just do not agree with some of your ideas, that’s all.
I believe in the sanctity of all sentient beings ,human and animal. A celery does not have the same level of sentience as a duck. The difference? A Central Nervous System. If you cut into a duck with a knife it will feel pain and suffer.A celery on the other hand will not.
I have made my point and will not comment on this anymore.
All the best to you,Rasabihariji.
Happy New Year.

Rasabihariji on December 29, 2008 at 9:32 pm #

Cool. I just dont believe in killing for no reason. I am not God to choose who should and shouldnt be killed. A soul is a soul despite the body its within plant or animal.

Also fruitarianism is the healthiest diet medically and spiritually, stated by God and statisitically the only diet where there is no depression or cancer

Happy new year

Thanks a lot Stephen Knapp for putting a presentation on Vegetarianism. I believe we should not behave in a manner we ourselves do not want others to behave. So based on this simple principle, hurting or killing animals is a sin or crime. Animals also undergo fear and pain when they are hurted and killed. You are right…before we pray God to bestow mercy on us, we should mercy & love to all including animals.

deepakchina on December 29, 2008 at 10:57 pm #

But there are people who advance theories to rationalize animals killing for their tongue-sake. But if one thinks through his or her heart – a place where God resides in all of us, one will find vegetarianism is “The Way” to peace and harmony in this world.

deepakchina on December 29, 2008 at 11:05 pm #

One should not choose the path of vegetarianism solely based on reasons and logic. It should be based on pure love to all species or creatures through whom God is getting manifested.

deepakchina on December 29, 2008 at 11:15 pm #

Vegetarianism comes with the realization or revelation when one begins seeing GOD everywhere – be it animated or unanimated. If people today on the face of earth are not vegetarians, then it clearly shows where they are on their spiritual journey!! They may think they are spiritual beings, but they are only misguided by various schools of thoughts.

Hi Rad

I hold very similar thoughts to yourself and hope to that one day lack of compassion will be seen as it surely is, a spiritual crime which is detrimental to human society.

I wish you health, peace and success in your quest.

Please also visit my own video on Youtube and my website, you may find some things of interest.

Sincere question: if Jesus hated the eating of meat etc as this video says he does, why did he feed the 5000 with fish as well, not just the bread?
