Mate, you don’t seem to have any concept of the sheer volume of meat supplied by intensive farming systems. No concept at all. Have a look at some of the references I have listed. Your references are pitiful and don’t constitute legititimate scientific or academic evidence. I can see that talking to you is like banging my head against a brick wall. I can also see that you’re not even remotely interested in the ethical implications of unnecessary animal slaughter.

So I’m not going to waste any more time on this bloody computer, it’s boring me to tears. Proflop1, if you are indeed eating all free range organic meat and animal products then at least you have some grasp on the matter.
Peace out, I’m off!

GOOD RIDDANCE< IDIOT !

“Optimal omega-3 to omega-6 ratio is 2:1 – 4:1. Very easy to achieve.”
This is what I mean. The ONLY vegetable source near these ratio is flaxseed oil, ratio 4:1 ,then canola 1:2.2.
So where in hell did you get the idea that the optimum ratio of 1:! is easily achieved?

STOP making up data to fit your ideals. Science is not like that and people who manipulate figures are easily found out and taken to task about it.
Strange to say , my reference is a VEGAN source, so CAN”T be wrong, can it ?

PROFLOP1 on April 26, 2009 at 3:01 am #

So a VEGAN needs to eat a LOT of nuts and beans to get the protein. Common source is -
TOFU having a disastrous omega 3 to omega 6 ratio of 1 : 7.5
TEMPEH is worse with a ratio 1 : 21
AVOVARDO is 1:16
SOYBEANS is 1:7.5

ALMONDS, BRAZIL NUTS,CASHEWS HAZELNUTS, OLIVES, PEANUTS, SUNFLOWER don’t have ANY omega 3 fat in them.

My reference is-
VeganHealth(dot)org

Of course, eating oily fish circumvents all of this VEGAN nonsense. Fish is full of valuable proteins and omega 3 fats. SIMPLE HUH ?

we don’t need to eat meat to survive but we’re physically built to digest and chew through meat which means we’re carnivores. My point is WE NEED TO EAT MEAT BUT WE DON’T HAVE TO EAT IT EVERY SINGLE DAY, instead of worrying what kinds of food you’ll have to substitute for meat, just eat organic meat like once a week or something, that’s what i do, i go vegetarian two days a week. It’s way healthier than eating meat everyday and it’s definitely healthier than not eating meat at all.

well no, carnivore teeth are sharp, they hunt their food and bite it. omnivores have pretty sharp teeth too, unlike humans. our teeth are built for chewing plants. many other parts of our body are built like herbivores if you look it up. intestines for example.

PROFLOP1 on April 27, 2009 at 2:42 am #

” many other parts of our body are built like herbivores if you look it up. intestines for example.”
I am sorry, this is not true. Humans have not got three stomachs like cattle have.
Humans have evolved with huge brains with the ability of using tools to catch, process and eat meat. We don’t need canine teeth like cats.

Lrn2science on April 30, 2009 at 9:37 pm #

yeah? how do they work for ya? i bet you couldn’t even bite through a piece of paper with ‘em.

Lrn2science on April 30, 2009 at 9:40 pm #

cows are completely different species. our intestine is long. carnivore and omnivoure have short intestines, they can digest meat faster without absorbing very much fat. humans, on the other hand, absorb a lot of fat from meat, mostly because we weren’t intended to eat it in the first place. we didn’t evolve to. don’t believe me? darwin saw that we evolved to not eat meat, he was a vegetarian. it’s moral, healthy and helps the environment. there is no reason to continue eating it besides lazines

ernietube1 on April 30, 2009 at 10:03 pm #

“darwin saw that we evolved to not eat meat, he was a vegetarian. ”

That is impossible. Long sea voyages were not possible without salted meat. and fish Coleslaw and weevily grains were the only vegetable matter on board a sailing ship.
Stop guessing about this. Show me the real connection between intestine size and animal type. REFERENCE PLEASE !

“cows are completely different species. our intestine is long. carnivore and omnivoure have short intestines, they can digest meat faster without absorbing very much fat. ”

Cows are mamals, just like us. Humans are a different species to cows but are also a different species to cats. pigs dogs, bears etc. So, what are you on about ?

eric88eric88 on May 3, 2009 at 1:02 am #

half these people I don’t even know. why do you even try to convince people to be a vegetarian?

ndrca on May 5, 2009 at 11:21 am #

They forgot to include one more famous vegetarian….Adolf Hitler.

HawaiiKnut on May 6, 2009 at 9:14 am #

I want to become a veggie, but it’s not easy changing habits.
But I’ll make it, sooner or later.

This was from a letter written to Hans Muehsam, and dated March 30, 1954, which was about 1 year before Einstein died. This indicates he adopted a vegetarian diet at the end of his life. Previously, on August3, 1953 Einstein had written the following in a letter to Max Kariel, suggesting that he was still eating meat at that time:

“I have always eaten animal flesh with a somewhat guilty conscience.”

Why do VEGANS have to lie and cheat in an attempt to justify their diet ?

A simple Google search came up first hit

International Vegetarian Union (IVU)

The latest indications we have suggest that Einstein was vegetarian only for the last year or so of his life, though he appears to have supported the idea for many years before practising it himself
