I wonder why they are seen in vegetarian recipe books, because they are part of the meat group in the food pyramid. They come from chickens and could potentially grow into chickens, so why it is considered okay (in mainstream society) to eat them if you’re a vegetarian? If I was a vegetarian, I would just strictly eat fruits, grains, and vegetables. Thanks for your help! I appreciate it.
Im young, and i started this 48 day vegetarian thing (for religious reasons) and i’ve decided to stay vegetarian forever. Limiting my animal products to milk, what vegetables can help me gain body mass. I want to be able to gain weight, and work out untill it becomes toned muscles.
I goto a gym, and a dude thats HUGE told me that he’s a strict carnivore, all he eats is meat, and thats his secret for his giant muscles. What vegetables give protein, and make you fatter/larger?
Please help!
I’m a vegan and my friend is a raw vegan. She always says that if I am going to eat cooked vegetables I might as well eat a steak, because it is not good for. Far be it, I call her and idiot and ignorant but alot of raw vegans I know feel this way. Is it me, or have you also known people like this?
Either way, cooked veggies are still good
overall I know 11 raw vegans
My mom raised my brothers and I vegetarian (almost totally vegan) because of her beliefs regarding the killing of animals. However, neither my brothers nor I remained vegetarian.
One of my daughter's friends (age 10) is being raised vegetarian and my daughter wonders if she will eat meat someday. When I asked her what she thought, she told me that since everyone she knew who was raised vegetarian did not stay that way, that her friend won't either. I explained that everyone makes different decisions and her friend may be a vegetarian for life.
So now I'm curious if there has been a study of vegetarian families, and how often children of vegetarians choose to eat meat as adults. Were my brothers and I the rule, or the exception?

I started eating meat because I smelled it and it seems much more appetizing than the diet I grew up on. I still appreciate fresh vegetables (my dad is into gardening, I rarely tasted vegetables that weren't ultra-fresh) but I simply prefer the flavor of meats when given the choice.
Different Types of Food for Different Types of Vegetarians
The sorts of vegetarian food are varied. However, the most basic (and most nutritious) is whole, unprocessed fruits, vegetables, whole grains, legumes, and beans. These are among the healthiest foods in the earth and your body will prosper when your diet is based on them. There are also meat replacements, or vegetarian food substance that is supposed to be a cruelty-free substitute to eating meat.
Admittedly, vegetarian food that is meant to substitute for meat often tastes far different than the real meat. However, the trick to learning to love them is to enjoy them for what they are rather than supposing them to taste closely like meat. It’s really impossible to make a vegetable-based food taste closely like a meat-based food. Therefore if you find yourself disappointed by meat substitutes just try to put in mind the motives that you went vegetarian in the first place.
Vegetarian food can also offer you the probability to try new foods and new combinations that you never would have considered of prior to going vegetarian. Vegetables and grains will take on a totally new quality to you when you eliminate meat of your diet. A mushroom will seem closely meaty, and grains like quinoa will be an excellent source of protein. One of the greatest things about vegetarian food is that it let you to become more experimental. Also, to experience foods those are good for your taste buds and the rest of your body.
Finding Vegetarian Food When Eating Out
It’s getting easier every year to find quality vegetarian food when you’re eating a meal away from your home. Fast food restaurants provide bean burgers and soy burgers. Almost every restaurant will provide salads without meat; some restaurants may even be willing to make a special meal for you if you just ask.
Don’t forget about the great vegetarian restaurants which can be found all over the world! These fine establishments supply to the vegetarian and vegan population by preparing and serving gourmet vegetarian meals.
Today, finding vegetarian food which is not “rabbit food” is easier than before. Hopefully, we’ll get more and more food enterprises offering vegetarian choices one day.
